I stumbled across this on the internet the other day. It is an article about radon and how it can cause lung cancer. January is radon awareness month - spread the word and save lives. EPA recommends testing your home every 2 years.

Open Backed Basement Drainage Systems

It seems like there is plenty of evidence that opened channel drainage systems will allow radon , other soil gases and ground moisture into the basement and upwards to the upper levels of the home. ‎23 years after the passage of the Indoor Radon Abatement Act, we are still trying to convince people to protect our children. This news story out of Massachusetts, an established radon market, shows how ignorant our public officials are on the subject of radon.
